Transform your career with Minnesota Reading Corps:
- Through the MNGOT (Minnesota Grown your Own Teacher) Program, you can earn a master’s degree and an elementary teaching license through the University of Minnesota with approximately $10,000 in tuition assistance. Available to AmeriCorps members with a bachelor’s degree and who have at least two remaining years of AmeriCorps service. (AmeriCorps members can serve up to four terms of service total).
Essential qualifications to serve with Minnesota Reading Corps:
- Strong interest in education, specifically in helping elementary students develop their literacy skills
- Demonstrated commitment to the community
- Citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States
- 18 years of age or older (no upper age limit!) and high school diploma or equivalent by the program start date
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
